Marylebone
W1
It’s always nice to go back to my old neighbourhood, it’s so familiar and comfortable which makes it even more of a reason to go the extra mile to overcome the challenges within the space. The flat had a low ceiling, existing flooring with underfloor heating, awkward door positions and skylights.
I suggested that we replace the large windows with bifolding ones with a balcony, making use of the outside space and bringing in the greenery. The clients really wanted an island, so we replaced the gas hob facing the wall with a Bora hob in the island (this was tricky as the underfloor heating existed) and created a seated bar are for 3. The tall units housed an appliance cupboard, pull out larder, tall fridge, small freezer and ovens with the sink run containing everything else.
The best part was the combination of the powder blue lacquered doors with the oak finish bar and shelves, making for a fun and happy kitchen!
